Going Gone Gorilla
12 Oct 2011 at 18:54Going Gone Gorilla from Tom & Ged on Vimeo.
The wildly popular Wow! Gorillas project involved sixty leading artists and was timed to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Bristol Zoo. Running for ten weeks over the summer the initiative attracted visitors and locals alike to explore the city whilst drawing attention to the plight of gorillas in the wild.
Above is the video that I made showing the creation of one of the gorillas featuring artwork by Tom Lane and Ged Palmer.
Check out Going Gone Gorilla on Behance for more information about the gorilla as well some photos.

It uses AJAX (without the XML part) and has a PHP fallback for those without JavaScript. I've added plenty of comments, partly so other can people can look at it and use it as a tutorial of sorts and partly so that I can look back at it as a reference. And all of this in exactly 100 lines of code!

Dungeon Adventure
1 Oct 2010 at 19:43Mr Chimp's Dungeon Adventure - Legend of the Troglodyte Surveyor is a grid based text adventure written in MapBasic for MapInfo. You can make your own levels/stories by editing a pair of MapInfo .tab files. The size of levels is only limited to the number of rows MapInfo can handle and the effort you can be bothered to put in.
This is a beta version. The logic is kind of basic, you can only get one item or one enemy in each room, each enemy can only be killed with a certain weapon and there's nothing as complex as using items on each other. The output is currently only in text form. MapInfo is a mapping program so drawing some graphical output shouldn't be hard. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to MapInfo so I won't be doing any work on this in the foreseeable future.
I have included the source code in the zip file below in case anyone wants to take it further.
Requirements: MapInfo 10+
Download Version 0.2b

I'd just like to say: I made this.
I posted it to b3ta on 26 July 2010 and they put it on their front page. It has since been reposted all over the internet and has even been remade by Cyanide and Happiness.
I'm not going to harp on about it though. I don't want to have to explain it to Kanye West or whatever.
